Complex regional pain syndrome, or CRPS, is a debilitating condition that can drastically reduce a patients quality of life. CRPS is also sometimes referred to as reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD). There are two types of CRPS. Type one is when the pain is not a result of a direct nerve injury while type 2 is caused by direct damage to a nerve. The condition is typically triggered by a nerve injury making type 2 more common.
